.. We are all jealous :D hahaha so i just typed out a huge review.. and then lost internet connection then lost everything i said -_- oh well.. haha i'll sum it up.. First off.. you are a mastering god.. i can't say that enough.. everything sounds so perfect in every single one of your songs.. That synth voice thing came back from fairweather friend! and it was ever better this time! I loved it! thenn.. comes the dubstep... That was sick.. I think you should really try to make a Dubstep song.. Like only dubstep, you know? Im just wondering.. what Vst's did you use for your piano and for the wobble bass? :D I would love to get a hold of those two :) great song man

Hahaha, you're way too kind man :D

I love my synth voice :P I've been using it since I made it first in "Welcome Back". With tweaks for every song of course, but the same basic idea.

The piano synth is EVM Grand Piano. You can get it at vstplanet. It's bass isn't as full as FL Keys, but it's got prettier high notes lol. Sometimes i'll mix the two together.

And for the wobble bass, I used Sawer, believe it or not. That guy packs a punch if you figure it out.

[The Loving Father]

I agree with DJShrike

This was very interesting. I really liked the low bass and all of that. The lead makes me feel happy but with the bass and sound effects also kinda sad.. you know? I see a girl standing on a high cliff looking out at the ocean after he "father" Died. And maybe throwing flowers and other things into the ocean. One thing, I would fix is the "gong" sound? Maybe its not a gong but its at 1:30.. It was really loud.. I felt like it was too loud.. I would lessen the voulume on that.. also one more thing is that really high pitched noise then it slides down.. you know what im talking about? I didnt really have much of a problem with it, but i can see how if older people listened to it, they would probably not like this song as much because of that.. maybe you could make it less sharp? or just lower the volume? when the violins and stuff come in at 1:01.. That is amazing.. That part with the violins, everything is so perfect.. Also.. Maybe you could've added a little more percussion? maybe some panning high hats? something like that XD haha well all in all this is a pretty good [Dark] ambient song!

It's interesting that the lead made you happy. It's honestly the most saddening part of the song for me. The name "The Loving Father" is an ironic name, because I wrote about the opposite thing.

The screech at 1:30 was meant to be kind of loud. It's not exactly piercing, but it's startling. I was trying to get an anxious feeling. I suppose I could throw an LP Filter on there and mellow it out a bit though.

And This was kind of a challenge for myself, I wanted to use no percussion at all, because I generally rely entirely on reverse crashes, snares and kicks in my transitions. I wanted to see what I could do without them :)

Anyway, thanks for the thoughts. Try listening to this while walking around your neighborhood at night. It's terrifying lol.

Are you serious? I've never had such an eargasm before, Dude, You are seriously a god. No joke there. I can't even think of anything to review on, THIS SONG IS PURE GOLD. There is absolutly nothing wrong with this song. But i have a couple questions.. Do you by chance play the piano? Cause usually people that play the piano are freakin amazing at Fl. Second question, Did you ever take any music theory classes? or just Fl classes in general? Cause if you did i would love to check them out, maybe i will become a god soon xD just kidding.. hehe last question.. What synths do you use? Do you make them? or do you use nexus or something like that? Thank you so much F-777.. You are an amazing artist.. No one even compares to you :D haha and thank you so much for an amazing song :)

Yes i play piano and i do know music theory but i have
never had a class in my life. I just bought books from a music
store and read through them and taught myself =).

I use nexus, z3ta, vanguard, sytrus, and 3xosc. I do make some
of my synths but most are edited from existing presets.

I've listened to this song.. for... pretty much forever.. i've never gotten old of this song at all. its just.. amazing.. Thats all i can say.. nothing at all wrong with it :D hahah i love how you are promoting you and F-777's album in your replies xD haha its cool though.. that album is pure eargasmic :P man.. i only wish that one day i might be able to make a song this good... did you take classes? do you play the piano? First thing... HAHAHA wow.. this is a really happy song, I really couldn't stop smiling for like the whole song :P good job with that. One thing you could fix.. is the kick.. it sounds.. kinda distorted.. im not sure if you did this on purpose.. but it just doesnt sound right in this type of song..
Also at :34 the synth that starts there.. goes on for the whole song.. It sounds kinda repetative after awhile.. maybe you should make that same sound.. but a different melody mabye around 1:02 you could just build up that sound. haha all in all.. i really like this song.. i would love to hear it with legitimate synths and a ton of effects :P maybe a little boost in Bpm as well :P haha anyways i really liked this song! its.. Catchy :)

That's a really makeshift kick lol, I used a square wave at like C2 and beefed up it's pulse width. The snares and hihats were made with noise waves lol. Like I said, I only used nintendo samples :P

And yeah, being such low quality, I kinda didn't put nearly as much effort into it as I should have. Consider it a work in progress lol. I think i'll cut out the repetitive melody at 1:15 and just use the melody I introduced there.

I'm glad to see your moving to other genres and trying new things! Every good composer can go into new genres and still make great music.. and that is exactly what you did here... i've been listening to this song while i do my homework for literatly 3 hours.. i still havn't gotten bored of it at all. I really liked the drums.. maybe they were a little too hard, but i thought they fit the song well.. especially with that great deep bass.. i got dr dre head phones for Christmas and man the bass sounds great :D haha For the whole song i felt like i was drifting off into another worldd.. especially at 1:16.. that synth.. made me feel like i was flying. Such a great song man.. the bells, the synths, the bass and the percussion.. fit perfectly together..

Ah that's so awesome! I've got Sony Bass Boost headphones, and it doesn't do this song justice. I feel like you may be the only person to listen to this song as intended lol. With deep, gut-wrenching bass.

On a side note, everything except the "voice" synth was done in 3xOsc, so they weren't bells. Just some detuned square and sine waves. Works really well with reverb. I love it :D

And.. I'm glad the song took you on a trip, that means I did my job :)

Kick is wayyyy too over bassed.. you need a better kick for this type of music.. i could send one if you'd like? haha.. like i said in the demo.. I love the way how it goes from the piano into the synth.. but that kick.. just ruins it :\ on some of the build ups, you should put some snare rolls.. that would help transition better and would fill it up.. ummm at 2:30.... im really not sure what just happened.. it was like an off beat transfer.. it sounds really really odd. also.. just have the audience come in once.. not like 5 times.. no offence but it gets kind of annoying after awhile. also all through out the song there are like.. "misplaced" kicks.. im not sure if you ment to do that.. but it sounds like they arent on the regualr beat.. anyways.. the synth that starts at 2:36.. starts off really good! Its a great sound.. but it isnt full at alll.. you need to work with pads.. alot.. all throughout this song you need that alot to fill out this song. Its not a terrible song.. i could see it becoming pretty good.. i hope i gave good enough constructive critisism.. last thing.. at 3:27.. it just kind of.. "ends"... it would sound better if it faded out.. just a little tip : P
anyways.. its not bad, but first you really need to fix that kick problem! haha keep working on your music! your getting better and better man!

haha yes i relized the croud sound is horable-.- at first it was like omg this is cool ! but ya after like the day i maid thisi thought it was a waste of time. padwork is still needing to be done cos i thought the croud would make up for the lack of it. but once agen i relized i was wrong :D ofbeat kicks... hmm yea i see how they are really offbeat. i did mean to to a point but this was one of the moments where it sounds good in my head but not as a hole. overbasey -.- ya it is i just started makeing kicks
if you would give me a sample of how you make urs or just a sample. ill look better in to how to make them. i glanced at a tot on how to make them but ive been trying to avoid watching them cos i like makeing my own sounds and if i watch it to much i fill like im copying! snare roles and what not. havent got that far in to the song to get there yet-.- been busy packing to move so ya.
i can tell they are getting better but i still dont think there that good-.- but they def are getting better :D thanks fer all ur help!

Sounds great man!

at first when i heard the piano.. some of the keys were sharp and it didn't sound right.. but right when you put in those claps.. i knew you were going to do a hardstyle song.. and right when the piano fades out and the synth comes in.. NICE.. I really want to see where you go with this one.. cause right now it sounds pretty nice man! Great work!

to me the piano dosent sound sharp? well it dose but i think the off sounding is what makes the hardcore part sound good? get what i mean?
the intro is to long and dosent fit well atm but i do like how it gos from the paino and im pretty sure m gunna keep the intro as long as it is but im gunna do a better job of the melody and everything in the part and make it sound more fluid and everything cos it gets to beatish for it . the intro melody sounds off cos the hardcore melody has thos off notes and i based it off of it to make it sound somewhat fitting.:)
im glad you like! ps the intro wont seem as long after the hardcore part is longer :D

Okay so i went on the audio portal and i was looking down the titles of the best of all time... and i see this one called Long Time, No see... Cool titles like that are always trance and i love it:D I HAD NO CLUE YOU MADE THE TOP 20! HOLY HELL MAN!.. im so jealous.. you've only been making music for what 2 to 3 months?.. dude.. so unfair :D haha Congrats man.. i hope to see more of your songs up there:) okay.. so.. i too tried this.. cause i love dubstep and trance, but...
First.. Im not good at making crazy good catchy melodies like this.. I will probably be humming this song all day :P hahah
Second.. That transition into dubstep went pretty fluidly without a major drop.. which takes talent:P hahahah one thing i can say is that it was a little repetative... not that much... but if you ever come back on this song.. Change a couple of those notes and add more of a wobble.. or more wubwubwub.. you know? :P hehe.. ps.. piano sounds greattt on top of the dubstep

Thanks again dude! I mainly just got some of my ideas out here. It's not polished yet, and that's why it's repetitive. I plan on fixing that hardcore when I get the chance. :P

And believe it or not, the only synth I used was TranceDrive. It's free and you can get it at vstplanet.com It's awesome. I made this the first day I had it :D It's pretty powerful.

I listen to this.. and then i go listen to my stuff.. and i feel like i know nothing about Fl and that my songs suck ass.. oh well.. you deserve it hahah So.. now your a DnB pro? what the hell happened to the Or4nges that was making little 30 second loops? Now your like a Monster at making music.. i feel like this happened over night hahahah How the hell did you get so good so fast! If you took some course you better tell me what it was because now i feel like your like my idol.. hahah now i want to be as good as you are! hahaha great work on this song man.. this is really really good.. the DnB is sick.. I love it.. Its a really well structured song and i give you props on getting so good man..

Man thanks! I've never been an idol before :D Haha, i'm just kidding.

And there were no classes involved. It was all experimenting and youtube vids. The main thing is to figure out what you want, and then learn how to do it.
